Hi! I'm Laura Kemp - journalist, writer and anthropologist by degree. I’ve always loved how culture speaks on where the world is going and how it can be an outlet for resistance and new ideas. I feel at home both in Amsterdam and London and go in between as often as I can.

My day job’s in Amsterdam where I am the proud culture editor for Vrij Nederland - a Dutch progressive monthly that keeps an eye on democracy, equality and freedom.

Will use this substack for exclusive previews of articles, thoughts, essays, and whatever comes to mind. Hope to find an international network of writers, thinkers and makers who believe in change through stories. <3
